Introduction
Abu Dujanah was an Ansari of the Banu Sa'idah. He took part in the early battles and is remembered for Uhud.
At Uhud the Prophet held out a sword and asked who would take it and give it its right. Abu Dujanah stepped forward and took it.
He was among the group at Abu Talha's house when the prohibition of alcohol came, and they poured the drink away. He fell at the battle of Yamamah.

قَالَ كُنْتُ أَسْقِي أَبَا طَلْحَةَ وَأُبَىَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ وَأَبَا دُجَانَةَ فِي رَهْطٍ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فَدَخَلَ عَلَيْنَا رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ حَدَثَ خَبَرٌ نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ. فَكَفَأْنَا. قَالَ وَمَا هِيَ يَوْمَئِذٍ إِلاَّ الْفَضِيخُ خَلِيطُ الْبُسْرِ وَالتَّمْرِ. قَالَ وَقَالَ أَنَسٌ لَقَدْ حُرِّمَتِ الْخَمْرُ وَإِنَّ عَامَّةَ خُمُورِهِمْ يَوْمَئِذٍ الْفَضِيخُ.

The Prophet offered his sword and asked who would take it and fulfil its right. Many reached for it. Only Abu Dujanah said he would take it and fulfil its right, and he did.

Sahih Muslim 2470Sahih أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَخَذَ سَيْفًا يَوْمَ أُحُدٍ فَقَالَ" مَنْ يَأْخُذُ مِنِّي هَذَا". فَبَسَطُوا أَيْدِيَهُمْ كُلُّ إِنْسَانٍ مِنْهُمْ يَقُولُ أَنَا أَنَا. قَالَ" فَمَنْ يَأْخُذُهُ بِحَقِّهِ". قَالَ فَأَحْجَمَ الْقَوْمُ فَقَالَ سِمَاكُ بْنُ خَرَشَةَ أَبُو دُجَانَةَ أَنَا آخُذُهُ بِحَقِّهِ. قَالَ فَأَخَذَهُ فَفَلَقَ بِهِ هَامَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ.

When an announcer called that wine was now unlawful, the group in Abu Talha's house, Abu Dujanah among them, poured it out right away and did not argue.
