Privacy Policy

Effective 7 October 2026 · Applies to the Aqdam iPhone app and the aqdam.app website.

In short: Aqdam collects no personal data. There is no server, no account, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your habits, prayer logs, Excused Days, Qada Balance and settings stay in a database on your iPhone. We, the developer, never receive them.

1. What the app stores, and where

Aqdam keeps everything you enter in a private database on your iPhone: your habits, your logs, Excused Days, your Qada Balance, your settings and your saved location. Aqdam has no server, so none of this is sent to us or to anyone else by the app. There is no account and no login.

The app contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking software. Its App Store privacy label is Data Not Collected.

Your iPhone's own backup (iCloud Backup or a backup to a computer) includes Aqdam's data, as it does for most apps. That backup is controlled by you and by Apple under your Apple account settings, not by us. Aqdam itself does not sync between devices.

2. Location

If you allow it, Aqdam uses your location on your iPhone to calculate prayer times and the qibla direction. You can also search for a city instead of sharing your location. We never receive your location, and it is never included in an export file.

To pick a sensible default calculation method, Aqdam asks iOS which country you are in. iOS may use Apple's location services over the network to answer that question, under Apple's Privacy Policy. The result stays on your iPhone.

3. Services outside your iPhone

Apple: purchases

Aqdam Plus is sold through the App Store. Apple processes the payment. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details, and we do not run any purchase-checking server. See Apple's Privacy Policy.

Online Quran text: optional, off by default

If you turn on online Quran text in the Reader, the app requests the text of a surah from api.alquran.cloud, a third-party service. The request contains the surah number only. Like any internet request, it also reveals your device's IP address to that service. Nothing about your habits or logs is sent. If you leave this setting off, the Reader uses the text built into the app.

Links you open

Some screens link to websites such as sunnah.com, quran.com or Apple's subscription settings. Those open in your browser and are covered by those sites' own policies.

4. Notifications and widgets

Prayer and habit reminders are scheduled on your iPhone. There is no push-notification server. Widgets read the data they show from a shared container on your iPhone (an App Group), which never leaves the device.

5. Keeping, exporting and deleting your data

  • Retention: your data stays on your iPhone until you delete it.
  • Export: You → Export my data writes everything to a file you keep. Import merges a file back in.
  • Delete: You → Reset app deletes everything Aqdam stores on your iPhone. Deleting the app does the same. Copies in your own backups or export files are under your control.
  • Requests to us: because we hold none of your app data, there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete on your behalf.

6. Religious information

Prayer and worship logs can reveal religious belief, which data-protection laws such as the EU GDPR treat as a special category of personal data. That is one reason Aqdam was built without a server: this information is never transmitted to us.

7. This website

This website runs on Railway, which serves it for us. Like any web server, it receives your IP address and browser details with each request. Our server does not keep request logs of its own. To stop abuse of the support form, it remembers the IP addresses that sent a message in the last hour, in memory only, and forgets them after that hour or on restart.

The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, embedded videos, social widgets or third-party fonts or scripts. Fonts, images and scripts are all served from aqdam.app.

8. When you contact us

The support form asks for your name, your email address and your message, and optionally a topic. When you send it, our server passes these to a private channel in Discord, which we use as our support inbox, so Discord stores and processes them under its own privacy policy. Our server itself does not store your message. Please don't include sensitive details, such as health information or your export file, that we don't need to help you.

We use what you send only to answer you and to improve Aqdam. We delete support messages when they are no longer needed to help you, and at the latest after 24 months. You can ask us to delete them sooner through the same form.

For your messages and for this website, the data controller is the developer of Aqdam, abdforge. For everything inside the app, there is nothing to control: we do not collect it.

9. Children

Aqdam collects no personal data from anyone, of any age.

10. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or move your personal data, or to object to its use. For app data you exercise these directly on your iPhone with Export, Import and Reset. For anything you have sent us, ask through the support channel above. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.

We do not sell or share personal information.

11. Changes and contact

If this policy changes, we will update it here and note the change below. Questions: Support.
